Donald Trump has no greater critic in the world of sports than LeBron James.
James almost shut down the NBA season this past summer with an anti-Trump protest.
But now Donald Trump is about to ask LeBron James to do the one thing no one could have predicted.
The Trump administration is rolling out multiple coronavirus vaccines as part of Operation Warp Speed.
A vaccine that ends the coronavirus pandemic will be one of President Trump’s crowning achievements.
But understandably, there are segments of the population hesitant to take an experimental vaccine.
Now, the Trump administration is trying to enlist LeBron James to publically take the vaccine to show black Americans that it is safe and effective.
U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams appeared on local news in Los Angeles and implored the Lakers star to receive the coronavirus vaccine.
“LeBron James, I know you’ve been a big supporter of masks,” Adams begged. “I want to know when you’re going to take the shot. Not the basketball shot, but the COVID shot.”
“Because I did it because I know it’s safe, and we want to make sure people understand this is how we end the pandemic,” Adams added.
Adams pleaded with James to take the shot in public to boost confidence and to donate plasma to help save lives.
“Take the shot, LeBron,” Adams continued. “Take the shot. And encourage people to go to TheFightIsInUs.org, LeBron, and give plasma . . . that’s how they can save a life this holiday season.”
Would LeBron James publically take a vaccine associated with his archrival Donald Trump?
That is an open question.
James will likely wait to see if Joe Biden becomes President and then decide to stage a photo op to take the coronavirus vaccine.
