LeBron James may be a star on the basketball court.
But his foray into political activism is downright embarrassing.
Now LeBron James is spreading a bizarre conspiracy theory about voting in America that left many scratching their heads.
According to LeBron James, votes cast by black people in America don’t “matter,” saying he’s seen “recounts” that have “muted” black voices for his entire life.
“We grow up and don’t think that our vote actually matters. It doesn’t. We’ve seen recounts before. We’ve seen our voices be muted our whole lives,” LeBron claimed without evidence.

The remark was especially bizarre given that data from the liberal Brookings Institute shows black voters often turn out to vote at a higher rate than all other minorities.
In 2012 and 2016, black voters had a higher rate of voting than whites, and other times are often within a single percentage point of white turnout.
The truth is, this isn’t the first time James got caught spreading conspiracy theories in his new “woke” activism.
After Ahmaud Arbery was killed by citizens in Georgia after being suspected of burglary, James stated that black people are “literally hunted every day.”
“We’re literally hunted EVERYDAY/EVERYTIME we step foot outside the comfort of our homes! Can’t even go for a damn jog man! Like WTF man are you kidding me?!?!?!?!?!?” James wrote on Twitter.

After accused rapist Jacob Blake was shot by police in Wisconsin, James claimed guns are a political issue in America because they make black people feel hunted.
“I think firearms are a huge issue in America,” James said. “They’re not just used for hunting. For Black people right now, we think you’re hunting us.”

At some point, if James continues wading into political affairs, someone has to demand James back up his unfounded assertions.
Otherwise, his political commentary needs to be disregarded as nothing more than the unhinged rants of just another conspiracy theorists.
