Millions of sports fans waited months through coronavirus lockdowns for sports to return.
Unfortunately, they returned “woke” with athletes in every major sports league protesting during the national anthem, alienating huge portions of their fan base.
And LeBron James just made a huge mistake with this jaw-dropping statement
It’s hard to believe asking professional athletes to stand for America’s national anthem is controversial in 2020.
It’s almost as if they’ve forgotten about the men and women in uniform who’ve died protecting this nation so they can make millions playing sports.
So when President Trump was asked about athletes kneeling and protesting during the national anthem, he spoke for fans around the country when he called it “disgraceful.”
“I think it’s disgraceful,” Trump said. “We work with them (the NBA), we worked with them very hard trying to get open. I was pushing for them to get open. Then I see everybody kneeling during the anthem. It’s not acceptable to me. When I see them kneeling I just turn off the game. I have no interest in the game. Let me tell you this, plenty of other people out there, too.”
But in the minds of arrogant athletes like LeBron James, Trump is just one person, so who cares.
That led LeBron to declare, “I really don’t think the basketball community are sad about losing his viewership, him viewing the game,” after the Lakers’ 105-86 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

And he’s not the only one in the NBA to hold this view. Clippers coach Doc Rivers said, “We lost one guy. Like, really, I don’t even care,” before going on to echo the Democrats’ bogus claim that President Trump and other Republicans are trying to engage in voter suppression in minority communities.
The truth of the matter is, it’s not just one guy. There are millions of Americans who feel the same way.
But the NBA is sending the message that they only care about catering to views on the Left.
Republicans don’t need to even bother tuning in.
