Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred jumped into politics by yanking the 2021 All-Star Game out of Atlanta in protest of Georgia’s new election integrity law.
That move backfired big time.
Now Major League Baseball got some bad news with the results of this latest poll.
Major League Baseball used to be America’s national pastime.
But now it’s turning into another blue state niche sport.
Commissioner Rob Manfred relocated the All-Star game from Atlanta to Denver based on a series of lies told by Joe Biden, Stacey Abrams, and other Democrats about a law that expanded early voting while requiring voter ID.
Critics predicted Manfred’s decision to act like a Democrat Party Super PAC would lead to a backlash from fans that are either Republicans or just want sports to be a distraction from politics.
A brand new Morning Consult poll found baseball’s net favorability with Republican fans plummeted from 47 points to 12.
“New data from Morning Consult Brand Intelligence, which tracks consumer attitudes, indicates that MLB’s net favorability rating among Republicans plummeted from 47 percentage points in mid-March to just 12 points at the end of last week, following the league’s decision to relocate its events. Net favorability is calculated by taking the difference between the share of respondents with a positive opinion of the league and the share with a negative opinion,” Morning Consult wrote about their poll results.
The NFL and NBA went woke last year embracing the Black Lives Matter movement and saw their ratings tumble as fans boycotted the product over the players, owners, and league executives joining in on anti-American protests.
Baseball looks to be the third major pro sports league to fall down the rabbit hole of woke politics and come out the other side with a smaller fan base.
