The NFL season has become a mess because of the ongoing coronavirus hysteria.
But that’s not the only issue plaguing the league.
And one Hall of Fame quarterback is sick of this growing trend in sports.
“Wokeness” has escaped from socialist classrooms on college campuses and infected multiple parts of society.
Sadly, sports were unable to escape the ailment of wokeness.
And Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre is sick of the politicization of sports.
Appearing on the radio with Eric Bolling, Favre said of the incursion of politics into sports, saying, “I’m glad I’m not playing for a lot of reasons. That’s one. I don’t want to be asked questions after a game that had nothing to do with play.”
The fans don’t want it, either.
It’s gotten so bad, NBA player Jonathan Simmons was peppered with questions from journalists about why he didn’t kneel for the national anthem.
And after Simmons tore his ACL in a game, at least one leftist member of the media tweeted about laughing at Simmons because of his anti-woke stance.
Favre continued, “I’m not saying who’s right or wrong . . . There’s a lot of things that need to be fixed in this country and this world . . . We can all work together.”
But the Left doesn’t want to work together; they want total submission.
They’ve even discussed putting Trump “collaborators” and “enablers” on lists.
Favre was equally perturbed on the issue of “cancel culture” that’s on the rise.
Favre added, “If you like oranges and I don’t, is that wrong? Does that mean I’m supposed to dislike you? You’re either with us or we hate you.”
“You’re either with us or we hate you” is a perfect encapsulation of many on the regressive Left.
Even dyed-in-the-wool leftists like JK Rowling must be read out of polite society for disagreeing with the “woke” outrage mob on one issue.
Favre also said that his generation and older generations are deeply concerned about the future of this country.
He concluded, “It’s frightening what it’s going to be like in 20-30 years from now. Honestly, I have no idea, but I can’t imagine it being pleasant.”
Five years ago, it would’ve been considered lunacy by everyone to say that men can get pregnant.
Now a growing sect of left-wing cultists are trying to gaslight the rest of the sane into believing such a preposterous notion.
If that can happen in five years, the country could be nightmarish in 20-30 years if people don’t start speaking out against the nonsense.
