The NBA is the most political league in all of American pro sports.
But no one saw this coming.
And one NBA superstar just got banned for this unbelievable political protest.
The Brooklyn Nets entered the 2021-2022 season as the favorite to win the NBA title on the strength of the team’s big three.
Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving formed an All-Star trio that the Nets and their fans believed formed the nucleus of a championship team.
But now all of that is in doubt because of New York City’s COVID tyranny.
Mayor Bill de Blasio imposed an authoritarian vaccine passport system requiring anyone entering entertainment and leisure establishments like the Barclays Center – where the Nets play their games – to show proof of vaccination.
Kyrie Irving is one of five percent of NBA players who refused to get the COVID vaccine and thus is only eligible to play and practice with the Nets for their 41 road games.
That wasn’t good enough for the Nets, who are all-in on forcing their players to surrender to the forced vaccination regime pushed by Joe Biden, Mayor deBlasio, and other public health fascists.
Nets General Manager Sean Marks – who hails from the COVID-19 police state of New Zealand – announced the team banned Irving from all practices and games until Irving forfeited control over his own body and got the vaccine.
“Kyrie has made a personal choice, and we respect his individual right to choose. Currently, the choice restricts his ability to be a full-time member of the team, and we will not permit any member of our team to participate with part-time availability. It is imperative that we continue to build chemistry as a team and remain true to our long-established values of togetherness and sacrifice,” a statement from Marks read.
But sources close to Irving – and most likely Irving himself – told The Athletic that Irving refused to get the vaccine in protest of Americans losing their jobs over vaccine mandates.
Irving felt compelled to challenge a tyrannical biomedical surveillance state and believed that by taking a stand and refusing the vaccine, Irving could give voice to Americans who would otherwise not be heard in this debate.
“Multiple sources with direct knowledge of Irving’s decision have told The Athletic that Irving is not anti-vaccine and that his stance is that he is upset that people are losing their jobs due to vaccine mandates. It’s a stance that Irving has explained to close teammates. To him, this is about a grander fight than the one on the court and Irving is challenging a perceived control of society and people’s livelihood, according to sources with knowledge of Irving’s mindset. It is a decision that he believes he is capable to make given his current life dynamics. ‘Kyrie wants to be a voice for the voiceless,’ one source said,” The Athletic reported.
The corporate-controlled media showers praise on professional athletes who take political stands by supporting Black Lives Matter, protesting Donald Trump, or kneeling for the national anthem.
But when Irving took a stand on behalf of liberty and medical freedom, his team banned him and the corporate-controlled sports media smeared him as selfish.
