It’s been a rough season for the NFL.
Scandal followed the league everywhere.
And the NFL got some bad news that left everyone asking one question.
The NFL thought canceling Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden for his conservative views was the last they would hear about this issue.
League officials leaked Gruden’s emails from ten years ago – when ESPN employed him – about various social issues until Gruden stepped down as Raiders coach.
Now Democrats in Congress want in on the act.
New York Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney sent a letter to the NFL demanding the league answer a series of questions about the investigation into the Washington Redskins workplace culture.
It was during the course of this investigation that the NFL discovered the Gruden emails.
ESPN reports:
They want the NFL to produce ‘all documents and communications obtained in connection with the investigation into the WFT, its management, its owners, and any other matter relating to or resulting from the WFT investigation.’
They also want the NFL to detail its role in Wilkinson’s investigation and why there was no written report after 150 people had been interviewed. It also raised concerns about non-disclosure agreements that former employees had signed. And it wanted to know the role of the NFL’s general counsel, Jeff Pash, in the investigation. Pash’s close relationship with Allen was revealed in some of the leaked emails on topics that ranged from jokes on the league’s diversity initiatives and rescinding an NFL fine. Allen was fired at the end of the 2019 season.
Upon learning of this new Congressional investigation, normal Americans only had one question.
And that was, doesn’t Congress have anything better to do?
Inflation is surging, store shelves sit empty due to supply chain breakdowns, and the border is wide open to illegal aliens.
With all the crises facing America, Congress wants to sink their teeth into the Washington Redskins’ team executives’ email traffic from ten years ago.
No wonder everyone hates Congress.
