The Left has fully taken over the Olympics.
It has become totally “woke,” pushing the Left’s social justice warrior agenda.
And the Olympics may never be the same again after getting this devastating news.
Historically, the Olympics has been a way to foster international cooperation between nations.
At the end of the day, it is more about diplomacy than the competition itself.
But in recent years, the Left has been trying to influence the Olympics with their agenda.
Olympians have been kneeling during the U.S. national anthem, and there have been witch hunts to remove any Olympic figure who may have made an off-color joke in the past.
And as it turns out, that “wokeness” may be causing them a lot of problems when it comes to viewership.
New reports show that the primetime viewership of the Tokyo Summer Olympics is down by a huge percentage compared to previous Olympic games.
“NBC said Friday that Thursday’s primetime coverage of the Tokyo Summer Olympics averaged a 10.8 rating and 19.5 million viewers across all of its platforms, down 43% in ratings and 41% in viewership from the comparable night of the Rio Games in 2016 (18.9, 33.0M),” Sports Media Watch reported. “Versus the most recent Olympics, the Pyeongchang Winter Games three years ago, ratings fell 5% and viewership 1% from an 11.4 and 19.3 million.”
“So far, all seven nights of the Olympics have averaged 20 million or fewer viewers — nearly doubling the combined total of the previous three Summer Olympics in 2008, 2012 and 2016 (four),” the report concluded.
While the Olympics as a whole has been hurting, the woke athletes themselves have been facing harsh defeats.
Megan Rapinoe’s U.S. women’s soccer team was expected to be on the easy path to a gold medal, only to be defeated by Canada.
Maybe if Rapinoe spent more time practicing, instead of appearing on talk shows to grow her personal image, they could have made it further.
Gwen Berry, the hammer thrower who disrespected the flag during her Olympic trials also failed to win a single medal, which is good for America, as she pledged to disrespect the flag again if she had won a medal.
Outside the U.S., New Zealand transgender weightlifter Laurel Hubbard, who believes he is a woman, failed to record a single successful lift in the women’s +87kg weightlifting.
If the Olympics keeps on failing like this by allowing the woke sports media to control the narrative by promoting woke athletes, Americans might quit watching altogether.
