Typically, a good running back has a combination of good speed, strength, and agility.

All of these traits also lend themselves to the sport of boxing, where speed is everything.

And it looks like these two elite running backs are taking their football skills to the boxing ring when they face off against each other in what promises to be an epic showdown.

The halfback position, commonly known as the running back, has become one of the most important positions in football.

Having a strong yet fast and agile running back to guarantee at least 4 or 5 yards a carry is a winning recipe every time.

That is why NFL teams have invested so much into having elite running backs.

Just look at Ezekiel Elliot, Christian McCaffery, and Derrick Henry for proof.

These running backs completely change their respective teams’ offenses and allow the quarterbacks of these teams to run a dual-threat offense.

The only downside of relying heavily on a running back is that these workhorses get injured easily and often.

So it goes without saying that the career of an NFL running back is often very short, or if they do survive they decline very quickly.

But for these two elite running backs, their athletic career is turning a new corner.

Le’veon Bell, who used to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets, and Baltimore Ravens has announced that he is working on putting together a boxing match against future Hall of Famer, Adrian Peterson.

These two running backs both played last season but in very limited capacities.

It is clear at this point that both of these former All-Stars are now washed up.

That being said, these dudes can still pack a punch.

As it stands, the two NFL legends are set to face off sometime next month at the newly renamed Crypto.com arena (formerly the Staples Center) in downtown Los Angeles.

It is unclear at this point what the purse may look like, but given the glitzy venue, it will likely be enormous.

This will be both of these former running backs’ first time boxing in such a public venue like this.

And rumors are already spreading like wildfire about who might have the upper hand.

Le’veon Bell has the age advantage at 30-years-old in comparison to Adrian Peterson who is 37.

Both fighters are 6’ 1”, and are at about the same weight.

At the end of the day, it will come down to who has the most energy.

Both running backs were known for their explosive line speed, so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top in this epic match up.
