The NFL draft kicked off on Thursday night with the biggest rumor in football swirling around.

It could change the landscape of the league in an instant.

And that’s because this NFL MVP is considering retirement to make this major career change.

Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is coming off an MVP season where at age 37 Rodgers threw for 4,299 yards and 48 touchdowns and just five interceptions.

But the Packers season ended in a bitter defeat at home to the eventual Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Title Game.

Rodgers’ growing frustration with the Packers stems from the fact that the Packers traded up in the 2020 First Round to select Utah State Quarterback Jordan Love despite Rodgers signing a four year $134 million dollar contract extension in 2018 to keep him with the Packers through 2023.

The problem is, keeping Rodgers through his entire deal negates the advantage of drafting a quarterback in the first round, as Rodgers playing through 2023 will eat up all of Love’s rookie contract.

Rodgers also conducted a very well received two week stint as host of Jeopardy! as the show looks for a permanent replacement for the late Alex Trebek.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rappaport revealed on social media that if the Packers do not trade Rodgers, Rodgers could leave the team to go host Jeopardy!.

If Aaron Rodgers gets traded or goes off to host Jeopardy!, the balance of power in the league would shift instantly as the Packers would tumble from the ranks of the contenders.
