The 2021 NFL season kicks off in two weeks.
Fans were looking forward to the games getting underway.
But now this NFL team’s week one game is in jeopardy for a reason you won’t believe.
The NFL brags about how many of its players submitted to getting the coronavirus vaccine.
One of the shining examples of “getting the jab” is the Tennessee Titans – 97 percent of whom are vaccinated according to the team’s general manager.
But that did not stop the Titans from having a larger outbreak than in 2020 – when vaccines were not available.
Head coach Mike Vrabel, kicker Ryan Succop, and star quarterback Ryan Tannehill joined a growing list of seven Titans on the COVID reserve list and will miss crucial practice time ahead of the Titans’ week one matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.
USA Today reports:
The Tennessee Titans announced that quarterback Ryan Tannehill will be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, along with tight end Geoff Swaim and linebacker Justin March-Lillard.
Tannehill, Swaim and March-Lillard join a growing list of Titans players added to the reserve/COVID-19 list since Monday, a group that now totals seven.
Outside linebacker Harold Landry, defensive lineman Anthony Rush, linebacker Nick Dzubnar and running back Jeremy McNichols are the other players current on the list.
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel announced he tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday morning following the team’s preseason win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Adding to fears over an outbreak, Bucs kicker Ryan Succop tested positive for the virus after having dinner with Titans players last week.
Tannehill, Vrabel, and Succop were all vaccinated.
In fact, Tannehill publicly stated he did not want to get the vaccine, but only did so because the NFL promised to make the lives of players who chose not to a living hell.
Tannehill and the overwhelming majority of Titans players and coaches followed the NFL’s vaccination regime and still ended up caught up in COVID protocols.
And now it could cost the team a win in week one.
