The Super Bowl is the pinnacle of every NFL player’s career.

At least it is supposed to be.

But you won’t believe what one quarterback did the night before the Super Bowl.

The New England Patriots defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21 in Super Bowl XXXIX.

That was Tom Brady and the Patriots third Super Bowl in four seasons and cemented the Patriots as an NFL dynasty.

However, the only thing anyone remembers from that game was Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb doubled-over in the huddle, allegedly puking.

Appearing on Bleacher Report’s Untold Stories, controversial former Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens claimed McNabb puked on the field as a result of a hard night of boozing the night before.

“I know there were teammates I talked to recently who said they saw him throw up in the huddle,” Owens recounted. “I’ve talked to teammates since then and know for a fact that he was out the night before the biggest game pretty much of all of our careers there. There were people that saw him out and said he was drinking. I think that contributed to him throwing up in the huddle.”

“Knowing all this information, I thought it was irresponsible, especially for somebody of his caliber and status and leader of the team,” Owens added.

Owens is not the most reliable narrator.

Terrell Owens was the player that originally turned the position of wide receiver into what it is today by beginning the trend of making it a “me first” spot where numbers and choreographed end zone celebrations became the focus of guys who played the position.

Owens forced his way out of San Francisco and to Philadelphia before his relationship with McNabb soured and he forced his way to division rival Dallas.

McNabb’s Super Bowl performance included 357 yards passing and three touchdowns, but McNabb also threw three interceptions in that game.

His uneven play and vomiting on the field were always connected through rumor and innuendo.

And now Terrell Owners is adding some context to the story.
